Tom tagged along today after his meet up with his teammate was a no show (funny as he had discussed it with him the night before!). First up was the Full Irish breakfast offered by our hotel at 6 Euros each. It was quite good and allowed all you can eat cereal, orange juice and coffee – which of course Tom took up immediately. As we’ll find out over the coming days, the full breakfast lacked mushrooms and pudding.
We did the tour around Trinity College. The guide was a graduate student in a couple of languages. Graduates (or fellows) can wear gowns, the longer the sleeve, the more higher up the chain you are. We then proceeded to the Great Library which holds the Book of Kells. Unfortunately, no photography was allowed.
We hopped onto the red tourist buses which takes you to all the big attractions around Dublin and ended up going to National Museum Collins Barracks. We easily spent the rest of the afternoon there and we still hadn’t completed all of the sections. We ended today sharing a cottage pie with salad and coffees. By the time I remembered to take the photo, Tom had already scoffed his section of the pie.
