Finally, something that has gone to plan – at least from Tom’s side of the fence. The hotel is fantastic and has everything we ever needed including complimentary breakfast and wifi, yes wifi keeps me sane. Had the religious Irish breakfast before heading out to the local shopping centre.
Blanchardstown has around 70,000 population so I wasn’t expecting much of a mall. When I got there, I quickly learned that it wasn’t small at all. It’s probably three of Canberra’s largest shopping malls joined together. You can find anything here – and that includes a Harvey Norman larger than the one we have in Fyshwick. There’s a Toys R Us equivalent but probably 5 times larger than that in Belconnen.
By the way, if you came here for the golfing information (ha!), then Australia came second to Ireland in the World Cup. They said that this was the best Australia has ever done.
We fly out to Newcastle-upon-Tyne tomorrow morning and will probably be away from wifi access for a while. It’s also going to be a public holiday over there.
